Residential Escrow Officer Job Description, Function and Responsibilities
NOTE: Responsibilities shall include but shall not be limited to the following:
- Receipt new orders, establish escrow accounts and process escrow and title documents in accordance with established policies and procedures
- Review purchase and sale agreements, escrow agreements and closing instructions and prepare necessary title and escrow documents
- Perform Residential Escrow Officer duties on all the files, including ordering title evidence, preparing title commitments, ordering and reviewing surveys, corresponding with underwriters, responding to title objections and comments, preparing closing statements, and closing and funding transactions
- Prepare and balance closing files for disbursement in accordance with closing statements and instructions
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations
Requirements
The Ideal Candidate will possess the following qualifications and experiences:
- Minimum of 5 years as a licensed Escrow Officer
- Must have a substantial and transferable Texas book of business with an active network of contacts
- Knowledge of legal documents with relation to closings and drafting closing documents including complex settlement statements
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Robust critical thinking and analytical skills
- Ability to adhere to strict deadlines with capability of pivoting as needed
- Mentorship of junior Escrow Officers and Assistants
- Software experience with RamQuest preferred
